Philip Plaisted

Phil joined the WASMA council in 2015. He is a 1972 Metallurgical WASM Kalgoorlie graduate with over 40 years experience in technical, operational and managerial roles that covered multiple commodities and locations in Australia and overseas. The majority of his time was spent in the diamond industry as a General Manager at Argyle diamonds in Western Australia and as the Managing Director of Murowa Diamonds in Zimbabwe. Of late he has been a consulting to resource industry.

The WA School of Mines gave me a great start to my career and I enjoy encouraging young people to seek a future in the resource industry especially with the shortage of people entering the industry.
