Kyle De Souza

President

Kyle is a mining engineer with 15 years’ experience in hard rock mining across Western Australia, currently employed by Western Australia’s largest stockbroker Euroz Hartleys as a Resources Analyst.

Kyle has worked across Western Australia in technical and managerial positions. Kyle graduated from Curtin’s WA School of Mines with a Bachelor of Engineering Majoring in Mining Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Management from Curtin Business School (CBS). He holds a WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency and Underground Shift Supervisors Certificate of Competency.

In 2010 Kyle co-founded Ewangan, a night school for Maasai cattle herders after living in a remote village in the rift valley for 9 months. An entrepreneur at heart, Kyle owns a surf retreat in Indonesia. With experiences in ‘business’ in developing countries, Kyle has a unique perspective which considers the distribution of wealth around the world – particularly the impact of global warming on each.

Kyle is an avid surfer and fisherman. His family has a longstanding involvement with charity, migrating to Australia from India in 1995 when he was 7 years old.

Kyle has served on Council for 12 years under Tony James, Bill Beament, Raleigh Finlayson and Christian Price. He is a member of the AusIMM and AIMWA.
