2025 WASMA Mentoring Program gets underway with strong momentum

The 2025 WASMA Mentoring Program is now officially underway, with the past two weeks buzzing as mentor and mentee pairs begin their journey together.

Last week featured an engaging introduction to the Mentorloop platform, equipping participants with the tools to make the most of their mentoring relationships. Meanwhile, those based in Perth had the special opportunity to connect face-to-face at the Mentoring Program Sundowner event.

Held at the impressive offices of Engineers Australia, thanks to generous hosts Susan Kreemer Pickford and Engineers Australia, the Sundowner was a highlight for many mentors and mentees meeting in person for the first time.

The event also welcomed several key program sponsors. Roslyn O’Sullivan from Bellevue Gold, Emma Edwards from Mineral Mining Services, and Andrew Atkinson from Sandvik each shared personal mentoring stories, offering valuable insight and inspiration to attendees. Their ongoing support remains vital to the program’s success.

MC Gavin Mann kept proceedings lively and concise, ensuring more time for networking among participants. Special thanks were also extended to Jennifer Neild, Chair of the WASMA Mentoring & Recognition Committee, whose leadership and dedication continue to drive the program forward.

With a strong start, the 2025 WASMA Mentoring Program promises a rewarding experience for all involved, fostering growth, connection, and professional development across the industry.
