Egan Street Circle
Established in 1902, the WA School of Mines (WASM or the School) is Australia’s oldest and premier mining school. WASM has a strong commitment to providing some of the world’s best mining and mineral education and facilities. Across its long history, the School has earned a reputation for producing high-quality and industry-ready graduates.Â
Egan Street Circle (The Circle) aims to bring together likeminded individuals who share a vision to support WASM and its activities through a gift in their Will. Gifts in Wills, also known as a bequest, are among the most significant and meaningful gifts a person can make. They reflect a person’s values and identity, creating a legacy that transforms lives and shapes the future of education. Â
Through The Circle, members are kept informed about WASM’s progress and learn firsthand how the School is making a positive contribution to the development of the resources and engineering sectors in Western Australia and globally through its research and student education and training.Â
Members of Egan Street Circle:
- are invited to WASM events to meet students, researchers and other members of the Circle
- receive regular updates on WASM news and research
- are acknowledged on our webpage and in publications (if desired)
- receive a special pin, reserved only for members of the Circle.

How will my gift support the future
of WASM?
Gifts received through Egan Street Circle will support the long-term success and overall betterment of the School. Your gift will ensure that students continue to receive the best education in the highly innovative, research-driven and industry-linked environment that WASM has delivered for over 120 years.
If you choose to establish an endowment or give to an existing endowment, the capital is carefully invested to generate interest, with a percentage of the interest accrued annually being directed to support WASM. Structuring your gift in this way ensures the impact will benefit future generations.
How can we help?
Writing or amending your Will, and deciding to leave a gift, is a major decision, and it is one that will take time and careful consideration. We hope that the information we have provided will assist you in the process and we encourage you to contact us for a confidential discussion about your wishes.
To discuss your bequest and for further information on how to include WASM in your Will, please contact the Development Executive, Gifts in Wills:

As a trusted custodian of this vision, WASM is committed to handling every gift with sensitivity and care.
