WASMA Mentoring Program

Are you ready to take your career to new heights or lend your expertise to those embarking on their resources journey? Then consider applying for our 2026 WASMA Mentoring Program. Applications are now open. We are seeking applications from both mentors and mentees.

This year, our Mentoring Program is designed to support individuals currently working in the resources sector and those seeking to return to the workforce after a career break. As an alumni initiative, our focus is on supporting graduates following the completion of their studies. Therefore, full-time students are not eligible to apply. Why Apply?

Our free Mentoring Program connects experienced leaders in the resources sector with individuals at the early stages of their careers. Mentors provide invaluable advice and insights to help mentees achieve their career goals and objectives.

Whether you’re just starting your career or a few years in, being matched with a mentor can propel your career forward. Similarly, if you’re looking to mentor others or learn from seasoned professionals, our program offers a platform for significant growth and learning.

All we ask is that you commit to at least 8 hours (or 2 hours per month) for the duration of the Mentoring Program.

Why be a Mentor?

Why be a Mentee?

Access Expert Guidance. As a mentee, you’ll have the opportunity to tap into the insights and advice of seasoned professionals who have successfully navigated similar career paths.
Accelerate Your Growth. By learning from the experiences and mistakes of your mentors, you can accelerate your professional development. Their guidance can help you avoid common pitfalls and provide you with strategies to advance faster towards your goals.

The Details

Applications are now open.

The program will run from 1 June 2026 to 30 September 2026, with mentors and mentees committing at least two hours per month for the duration of the program (8 hours in total).

Applications are open to both WASM Alumni and anyone working in the resources sector.

Full-time students are not eligible to apply.

All applications are to be submitted via the Mentorloop platform.

Applications close Friday 8 May 2026,

All applications received will be reviewed by the WASMA Mentoring & Recognition Committee. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by 1 June 2026.

WASMA reserves the right to accept or decline any application at our discretion.
