In early August we hosted our biggest event of the year, our annual Diggers & Dealers Sundowner. Our sold-out event welcomed 450 guests to the WASM Graduates Hall, bringing together Alumni, the broader resources community, sponsors and current WASM students. It was fantastic to see so many Alumni return to catch up with mates and share stories.

We had a record number of sponsors this year and we are so grateful for their ongoing support.
A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers, WASMA Council and Kalgoorlie Committee for helping make the evening run so smoothly and ensuring everyone felt welcome. Thanks also to Ron Ellis for MCing the evening and to the WASM Social Club Inc. for looking after the bar.
We were also proud to recognise Alumnus Stuart Tonkin with Life Membership for his contribution to WASM and the Alumni community.
The evening included an auction of a prized Alumni jersey to support the Miner v Wild team and their upcoming survival challenge in the remote Kimberley, raising funds for Youth Focus. A special thank you to Jim Walker AM for his generous $1,500 donation, and to our Alumni and the wider resources sector for their incredible support. We look look forward to seeing you all again in 2027!
