Clive Annear achieved a Diploma in Mining and spent 20 years specialising in underground mining operations across the Golden Mile, Norseman, EZ Rosebery (TAS), and Cobar Mines (NSW). During this period, large-scale trackless diesel equipment was introduced to Australian hard rock mining at sites like Mt Isa, Cobar, and Mt Charlotte.
Following his time at Cobar, Clive managed Mt Charlotte during its 450,000-tonne mass pillar blasting program and later went on to establish the Redross Nickel Mine.
Clive then spent 19 years with Fluor as Manager of Business Development, overseeing the design and construction of major projects such as the Dampier to Perth Gas Pipeline, the concentrator, refinery, and smelter at Olympic Dam, and the expansion of the Cliffs Robe River operations.
In the latter part of his career, he provided independent business development consulting services for resource sector design, construction, and maintenance projects for over 15 years. He also held a part-time appointment as General Manager of the Brodie Hall Research & Consultancy Centre at WASM Kalgoorlie. Later, he served as a national Sales Engineer for a private change management organisation, delivering end-to-end solutions—from diagnostic reviews to implementation programs and staff retraining—for companies seeking sustainable bottom-line improvements.
