Ms Finlayson is a minerals processing engineer from the Western Australian School of Mines (Curtin University). She brings extensive experience across a wide range of commodities, including iron ore, diamonds, base metals, and coal.

Her leadership tenure includes serving as Managing Director of Battery Materials at Rio Tinto until late 2023, where she led development of the company’s battery materials portfolio, and previously heading its Borates & Lithium operations and the Jadar lithium project. Since October 2022, she has served as a Non-Executive Director on the board of Northern Star Resources.
