Today we were thrilled to welcome Hon David Michael MLA, Minister for Mines and Petroleum and Ali Kent MLA, Member for Kalgoorlie to our beloved WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering.
Associate Professor Laurence Dyer (Deputy Head of School (Metallurgy)) along with Professor Mark Ogden (Pro Vice Chancellor, Faculty of Science & Engineering, Curtin University) led a tour of the School showcasing the innovative teaching facilities and research laboratories. The strong enrolment numbers at the School were highlighted, along with the ongoing demand for a skilled workforce from the resources sector.
Our own Kalgoorlie Chair, Ron Ellis joined the tour, reinforcing the strong connection our Alumni continues to have with the School of Mines.
