President’s Lunch update – exciting developments ahead!

Last week we held our first President’s Lunch for the year. This was our chance to update our major supporters and industry stakeholders on the recent activities of the Alumni.

Our President Kyle De Souza shared that it has been a busy six months for the Alumni. Our events continue to be sold out, sponsorship strong and increased participation in our Mentoring Programs. He also highlighted that our focus is now on our inaugural Resources Leadership Summit which is being held on the 3 October 2024 at the Pan Pacific Perth. The audience received a sneak peak of the program, which will be released on Monday!

During the lunch we also heard about the healthy enrolment numbers at the School of Mines from Acting Head of School Tejas Bhatelia (who is also a valued Alumni member!).

We were delighted to announce that the WA School of Mines Alumni and Curtin University have signed a new 3-year Memorandum of Understanding, enabling us to continue our long-standing collaboration and support with the WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering. We were pleased to have the recently appointed Provost Professor Matthew Tonts join us and sign the MoU.

A big thank you to Stuart Tonkin and Northern Star Resources Limited for supporting this lunch.
