Resources Leadership Summit brings industry together in Perth

WASMA’s Resources Leadership Summit, held on 20 March, brought together nearly 300 current and emerging leaders from across the industry for a full day of insight, discussion, and shared experience.

The program explored four key leadership themes shaping the industry today.

Be Creative: Exploring how creativity plays a role in effective leadership and how it can be developed within teams
Be Adaptive: Looking at how lessons from elite sport can help leaders respond to change and think ahead
Be Resilient: Focusing on mindset, persistence, and learning from challenges and setbacks
Be a Titan: Reflecting on leadership at scale, staying grounded, and balancing performance with perspective

The day featured a range of engaging sessions and standout moments. Ryan “Brickman” McNaught challenged attendees with a hands-on Lego activity, where teams worked together to build an imaginary mining machine under time pressure. Don Ash’s keynote on “100 Small Things” delivered with consistency and intent held the room’s full attention, while Simon Lawson’s fireside chat offered an inspiring perspective on leadership, ethics, and putting people first.

WASMA extends its thanks to all speakers and panel members for sharing their experiences and insights, as well as to attendees whose participation and engagement contributed to the success of the event.

A sincere thank you also to the event sponsors for their support in delivering a strong platform for learning and industry collaboration.
