BubDesk invites all WASMA members to take part in our exciting new initiative.
BubDesk is Perth’s unique co-working space, a blend of shared workspace and childcare, that encourages new parents to continue on with their careers or businesses.
Now in its second year, BubDesk is expanding its service to a broader network of branches, including a CBD location, arming businesses with tools they need to attract & retain top talent.
Businesses already using the service find that their staff are happier to return to work earlier and in a more full time capacity when given the opportunity to work close by their child. We ensure that working professionals experience minimal disruption and exceptional support in a productive workplace, free from the distractions of working from home.
We are inviting WASMA members to take this 2 minute survey to gauge interest in supporting your team with either an in-house BubDesk branch or an offsite branch with fellow WASMA members.

Mining Magazine Awards Sandvik
The Mining Magazine awards celebrate innovation and commitment to advancing the face of mining, not just technologically but also sustainably and in an environmentally respectful manner.
We are delighted to learn that WASMA’s Premium Partner Sandvik has won the Drill and Blast Award. Congratulations guys
Sandvik DD422iE
Sandvik launched the first battery-trammed mining jumbo, the DD422iE, in 2016. By using electric energy from an on-board battery during tramming, the DD422iE produces zero emissions while maneuvering between headings. Using the mine’s existing electric infrastructure, Sandvik drive-line technology enables the battery to recharge during the drilling cycle. The battery will even recharge while DD422iE is tramming downhill, using energy generated by the braking system.

IC65: FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2017 WOMEN IN RESOURCES AWARDS
Jayne Finch, WASM graduate, treasurer of the WASMA Kalgoorlie Branch, Underground Project and Planning Engineer, Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mine, has been nominated for Outstanding Woman In Resources in the CME Women in Resources Awards.
Winner to be announced at the CME breakfast march 3 2017.

A Tragic Loss
Matthew Jerkovich, a WASM Graduate, member of the alumni, mentor, friend, son and brother, died tragically in a car accident on his way to work, Jan 2017.
He was only 24.
Deepest sympathies to his family and his friends.
