Our 2026 WASMA Mentoring Program is now in full swing. This year we had well over 100 mentors and mentees apply!

Though it may have been the start of winter, this did not deter our guests for joining us for the June MineChat. We are loving our new event location Boobook Bottle + Bar in West Perth!

The next generation of resources professionals was recently celebrated at the 2026 WASMA Kalgoorlie Graduation Dinner.

The resources alumni community came together on April 1, 2026, for the first MineChat of the year. The milestone evening was marked by a series of “firsts” that set the tone for an exciting 2026 program.

WASMA’s Resources Leadership Summit, held on 20 March, brought together nearly 300 current and emerging leaders from across the industry for a full day of insight, discussion, and shared experience. The program explored four key leadership themes shaping the industry today.

WASMA returned to the WA School of Mines (WASM) Graduates Hall on 25 February 2026 for its first Kalgoorlie Sundowner of the year, bringing together students, alumni and industry for an evening of connection and insights.

The 2025/26 Executive Mentoring Program officially concluded on 5 February 2026, marking the end of a three-month journey focused on professional growth and industry connection.

Being appointed President this year has been a privilege, and a reminder of the responsibility that comes with representing an iconic organisation. WA School of Mines Alumni has history, attitude, and a reputation built on hard work, heat, dust, determination and the kind of education you simply can’t replicate anywhere else.
